2 tbsp oats (not instant oat cereal or jumbo oats)
2 tbsp milk (breast, formula or whole milk)
Preparation time: 5 mins
Storage: Best eaten straight away
Servings: 1 for a 6 month old baby, for older babies just add an extra spoon or 2 of each ingredient
1. Mix the oats and milk together on a microwavable plate. Form the mixture into an approximate rectangle with the back of a spoon.
2. Cook in the microwave for 90 seconds
3. Leave for a few minutes to cool down and firm up and cut into fingers.
You can also add dried fruit such as sultanas, raisins, chopped apricot or chopped prunes. To make an apple and cinnamon version, grate a quarter of an apple into the mixture and add a pinch of cinnamon. After microwaving for 90 seconds turn over and cook for an extra 30 seconds. For Banana fingers, add half a small mashed banana and cook for 90 seconds, turn and cook for a further 30 seconds.
So far we've tried both the plain and banana versions and LC loved both of them!
